Brite’s Virtual STEM Role Model Camp is an online, interdisciplinary science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) program created especially for youth entering 7th-10th grade. Brite is designed to spark curiosity, foster creativity, and build an online community all while having FUN doing STEM projects and meeting STEM professionals from a variety of fields.
The theme of Brite Camp 2025 is Explore STEAM: Creativity and Curiosity. Throughout the week, youth will meet four role models from cutting-edge STEM fields doing creative things in technology, the arts, and the sciences, such as science artists, ecologists, and space engineers. Youth will build their own creative thinking skills through icebreakers, community-building activities, and hands-on projects led by experienced NGCP virtual camp counselors. Each participant will also receive a hands-on activity kit curated by Smart Girls HQ!
This virtual camp will meet online for 5 days (3 hours a day) in July. Youth will access the camp through a customized online platform especially developed for Brite, which can be accessed through a computer, tablet, or other internet-enabled device. This platform will serve as a launching pad for campers to participate in individual, small group, and community-wide activities. It will also provide a safe and monitored space for youth to network with role models, interact with one another, and learn more about STEM. All campers will continue to have access to the Brite platform to explore on their own for the week following the camp!
