Sabrina Paterski

Theoretical Physicist

3 THINGS TO KNOW

Sabrina is a proud first-generation Cuban-American.

She was the first Massachusetts Institute of Technology freshman to be named the NASA January Operational Internship.

She was promised a job by Jeff Bezos!

You might not know who this woman is, but you probably know who she is compared to.  Nicknamed this generation’s ‘New Einstein,’ Sabrina Paterski is a 22-year-old physician who already has a degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is now a PhD candidate at Harvard University. When she was fourteen, Sabrina made her very own single-engine plane by herself and then flew it all the way across Lake Michigan! It took her only two years, which means she started at only twelve years old!

In 2015, Sabrina Paterski was listed in the Forbes magazine’s annual 30 Under 30 listing upcoming trailblazers and changemakers. This is another in a long list of honors and awards Paterski has been awarded. During her second-year in MIT, she was named in the Scientific American’s 30 Under 30 list for her reputation as a physicist.

Sabrina lives by the motto to tackle any problem directly: “I see no limit to what we can achieve and view the word ‘impossible’ as a challenge.”

She has her own website and YouTube channel, PhysicsGirl, where she documents all her work.
